A view on the Campo Rubiales oil, has oil production camp in eastern Colombia in April of 2010. Colombia since 2005 with the help of oil workers doubled, which were fired by Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez nearly a decade.
Almost a decade ago, Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez 20,000 raised striking oil, had many in highly specialized areas, years of experience.
Venezuelan oil production has dropped since then, and this exile oil workers help boost oil production in other countries, including a new oil frontier, Colombia.
In the last few days on Colombia's Dussumier were the oil fields of Pacific Rubiales, the country's largest private oil producer, lead a beehive of activity.
Loud drilled platforms, while nearby, thousands of workers paved roads, pipelines and installed large oil tanks built. Over 700 sun baked square miles, they are fixed on a goal: produce more oil, the quarter-million barrel daily pumped.
We knew that was the oil here, because we all here very well understand the geology in South America.
-Ronald Pantin, a Venezuelan who now an oil company in Colombia
It is a very different place than it was a few years ago, when Marxist guerrillas oil installations targeted and oil production in Colombia hardly 14,000 barrels of daily tip. Then came the Venezuelans. One of them was Ronald Pantin, now Chief Executive of Pacific Rubiales.
"We knew that was the oil here, because we all here very well understand the geology in South America," he said. "We have field of Rubiales, and now you see what happened."
In 2002 Venezuela's oil workers at the front of the huge protests against Chavez were left fiery leader of the country.
Chavez has deleted the upper hand and dissident workers from the State oil company. Pantin, a former Executive at the company was among those who previously had left. But his colleagues - many with a quarter-century of experience - which were thrown.
"[Chávez] know raised." And then you had this diaspora of Venezuelans Colombia, go the Arab countries, people everywhere - Canada, everywhere, with pretty good experience in the oil sector, "Pantin says."

Similar geology
Hundreds ended up in Colombia. The fact that the country was largely unexplored attractive, Venezuelan oil clubs such as Humberto Calderon, the Vetra energy with other Venezuelan founded.
Calderón knew that some Colombia shared the same geological formations as his home. He says two other factors that contributed, current win: security policy, which weakened, the rebels and favourable financial conditions, the investors attracted.
"The conditions here were the possibilities grow here were present and at the same time we feel very well protected, that come political interference would not on us to act," he says.
Colombia's profit was Venezuela's loss:, that country was once the world's fifth largest exporter. Now it is up to number 11. And in Colombia, took the production of almost 500,000 barrels per day in 2005 to almost one million barrels today. Most of the oil is exported, and the United States is the largest recipient.
A quarter of the production is in the Southern Plains, where helicopters oil workers from one end of the field to the other ferry Rubiales. It is a school, a hotel and streets of prefabricated housing for workers. German Hernandez, a kolumbianischer of the oil operations in the area a far different place a decade directs back reminded, when he first arrived.
There were less than 20 employees, he says, and they lived in tents.
Today, Hernandez says, it is the country of the largest oil field.
The target for this company, he says proudly, production to half a million is double barrels daily in five years.
